Regner Lumberjack: building the kit

Bought in September 2006 and built at end of December 2007, the construction itself took two careful days but thinking and planning what I wanted out of it took much longer. John Kelland wrote up the construction of these kits in SMT 119/ Feb 2007 and hinted at some possible mods which he subsequently wrote up in SMT 121/ Aug 2007.
I've weathered the loco with acrylic paints using four colours - black, white, a browny red and dark green. That's all you need, just a few basic colours and a bit of mixing to create washes. The crew have been treated in the same way: a base spray with matt black, highlights dry-brushed in with pure white and washes of colour on top. (See 'How to paint miniature figures' in my links area).

The wheels can be gauged for 30mm/ 32mm or 45mm ~ mine are to 32mm.
SMT or Sixteen Mil Today is the journal of the Association of 16mm Narrow Gauge Modellers.
